New
‘Bucket List’ Road Trip Created as UK & Ireland’s Answer to Route 66
An estimated 200,000 people travel from
across America and the world every year to drive all or part of the iconic Route
66 (1) stretching from Chicago to Los Angeles.
The route has great historical and cultural
significance, forming part of a ‘bucket list’ for many people, and ranked by
Britons in the top 10 of ‘things to do before you die’ (2)
To help people explore the UK &
Ireland, Jurys Inns Hotels have created a new road trip to go onto the bucket
list… introducing ‘Route
57’ – a drive across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland with 57 must-see destinations
along the way, of similar mileage and drive-time to Route 66.
The route is made up of ten shorter road
trips to allow people to do part or all of the route at their leisure, in any
order, all at once or gradually.
Jurys Inn Hotels hope to see it turn into a
bucket list item, boosting local tourism with people travelling from home and
abroad for the drive, just like with Route 66.
See Route 57 at jurysinns.com/route57-roadtrips,
complete with pictures and descriptions of all 57 destinations and a map at the
end for journey planning.
